Long-term service is a good opportunity to grow in Dhamma. Long-term servers are at least two months at the centre. Usually they start with a course serving in the kitchen. After that they may serve in different capacities according to the server’s abilities and inclination. There are these fields of activities:
Meditating Regularly
Long-term servers meditate daily for three hours and sit a course regularly after consulting with the responsible assistant teachers.
Regular Breaks
Long-term servers are usually on duty for five days and then have two-days break. Only the first course during the long-term period is without breaks, i.e. 10 days in a row.
