Dhamma Sampatti: Second center in southwest Germany

Introduction

Dhamma Sampatti is situated between Karlsruhe and Freiburg at an altitude of 700 meters, offering a magnificent view over the Rhine Valley. The former hotel Hohritt was acquired on November 5th, 2024, and was renovated and prepared for courses many months. The first courses are starting on September 2nd.

The tranquil 5.3-hectare site, surrounded by nature, offers excellent conditions for meditation. Up to 70 students per course will initially have the opportunity to learn or deepen their practice of Vipassana meditation.
Even after courses begin, Dhamma Sampatti will continue to improve in order to offer more space and better conditions.

Getting Here

The address of the course location is Hohritt 1, 77887 Sasbachwalden.

Arrival by Train

Travel to Achern by train. From the train station, Buses run regularly to Sasbachwalden, Abzw. Hohritt. From there, walk up the hill (600 m, see the last photo at the bottom of the page).

  • Linie 400 (operates more frequently in summer than in winter)
  • Linie 423 (schedule varies on school days and holidays)

Taxi Services

Due to the good public transport connections, no pick-up or drop-off service to the center is offered. However, if you would like to take a taxi, there are, for example, the following companies:

Arrival by Car

Take the A5 exit Achern and follow the signs to Achern. Shortly after the second roundabout, turn left. In the first roundabout, turn right towards Sasbachwalden and follow the road through Achern (if only "Sasbach" is signposted, continue straight). At the end of Achern, take the first exit at the roundabout towards Sasbachwalden and follow the road until you pass through the Bischenberg district. About 2 km after that, the turnoff to  Hohritt is on the left right before Brandmatt.
